About me

I'm Brendan Loy, a 26-year-old graduate of USC and Notre Dame now living and working in Knoxville, Tennessee. My wife Becky and I are brand-new parents of a beautiful baby girl, born on New Year's Eve.

I'm a big-time sports fan, a politics, media & law junkie, an astronomy buff, a weather nerd, an Apple aficionado, a Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter fanatic, and an all-around dork. My blog is best-known for its coverage of Hurricane Katrina, but I blog about anything and everything that interests me.

Comments

He's from Chicago, where dead people have a long an storied history of voting. It is natural for him to see them.

George W. Bush is still the Tiger Woods of gaffes compared to Obama's Phil Mickelson.

So it appears that Vladimir Putin is now Prime Minister of the "Russian-Belarus Alliance." Sounds to me like he is reconstituting the Soviet Union. While I disagree with McCain on Iraq, I do appreciate his take on Putin. Namely, when McCain looks into Putin's eyes he sees "KGB."

No shit. Our policy toward Russia needs to change. This is bullshit.

Haha, thats hilarious! I bet most of those dead people were killed by sniper fire in Bosnia too!

New gaffe: Obama remembers an uncle who was with the Soviet Army. Or not.

I watched that speech live and was wondering if the media would pick that up.

Yeah, I popped up here in the hopes of seeing the serial "entirely defensible" editorial of the new gaffe.

In what way could someone possibly interpret this gaffe as indefensible, Duck?

Oh. I guess you meant the Auschwitz one not the fallen soldiers one.

I'm not clear on what the issue is here.

I just like to point out where possible how the blog has become a reliable Obamapologist for some time now.

So Duck, you think its worse that Obama said Auschwitz (a Nazi concentration camp) but meant Buchenwald (also a Nazi concentration camp) and this is somehow a big deal.

Meanwhile John McCain said Iran (a Shiite nation) was supporting Al Qaeda (a Sunni terrorist group).

Now personally I don't think John McCain's mis-speak was a huge deal, but how can you claim that Obama's was not only huge but actually worse than McCain's. Oh here's the tough part, you can't use partisan blindness to justify it. Good luck!

Who said anything about Obama's gaffe being worse than McCain's?

I was under the impression Duck was a right winger. I suppose he could be a Hillary supporter too, in which case i'll change my example to the oh so entertaining sniper fire incident.

This is all part of Obama's secret plan to appeal to the people who are voting for Hillary. He's trying to prove that he's just as ignorant about history and geography as the average American.

;)
