UConn women back in Final Four!
UConn survives! The Huskies mounted a huge comeback against Rutgers to reach their first Final Four since 2004. Hurrah!
Among other things, this means the Geno vs. Pat Championship Game Grudge Match is still a possibility! All it takes now is for UConn to beat Stanford and Tennessee to beat LSU. (If it happens, I'll be rooting for the Huskies, Becky will be rooting for the Lady Vols, and I'm pretty sure she'll buy Loyette some sort of Tennessee onesie for the occasion... harumph!)
Latest women's pool standings here and after the jump. Also after the jump, updated scenarios of who can win, and how.
• Joseph Hiegel wins if Tennessee beats UConn in the title game.
• Kevin Pilz, Kevin Hauschulz and Josh Krause win (co-champions) if UConn beats Tennessee in the title game.
• Jeff Freeze wins if Tennessee beats Stanford in the title game.
• Jeff Vaca wins if Stanford beats Tennessee in the title game.
• Rachel Wetherill wins if LSU wins the championship or loses to Stanford in the title game.
• Gerry deSimas wins if UConn beats LSU in the title game.
Ian Auzenne, who led the pool prior to UConn's win, drops to 10th place and is mathematically eliminated. UConn's win also eliminated Kristy McCray. Here again are the current standings...

As a UConn student, I am very happy about this. I seem to be alone, though, on campus... we need more school spirit.

Damn you, Rutgers! DAMN YOU!!!
Good luck to the rest of the participants.

Seems I cast my lot behind the wrong UCONN team earlier. Go Maya Moore!
I would love to see a Geno-Pat showdown. Although you must protect Loyette from the Vols, Brendan!! Tell Becky that orange is a horrible color on a cute baby.
