About me

I'm Brendan Loy, a 26-year-old graduate of USC and Notre Dame now living and working in Knoxville, Tennessee. My wife Becky and I are brand-new parents of a beautiful baby girl, born on New Year's Eve.

I'm a big-time sports fan, a politics, media & law junkie, an astronomy buff, a weather nerd, an Apple aficionado, a Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter fanatic, and an all-around dork. My blog is best-known for its coverage of Hurricane Katrina, but I blog about anything and everything that interests me.

Quote of the day

Spike Lee: "The Clintons, man, they would lie on a stack of Bibles. Snipers? That’s not misspeaking; that’s some pure bulls***. I voted for Clinton twice, but that’s over with."

He went on to refer to the former president as "Massuh Clinton" -- as in, a slave master -- and to mock "old black politicians" for obsequious loyalty to him. Cue someone from Hillary's campaign calling on Obama to "personally repudiate" those remarks in 5... 4... 3...

Lee calling Clinton a liar. Irony, thy name is Spike.

"Snipers? That’s not misspeaking; that’s some pure bulls***"

Whatever you think of Spike Lee, that statement is 100% accurate.

new polls today show more movement toward obama. i still dont think he'll win PA, but its a feasible possibility now. itd be great if he could win it and finally close this out.

Braylon, I know Lee can be controversialy and over the top, but i've never heard of him as being a compulsive liar or anything. Do you have any examples.

Michael Moore, on the other hand... ;)

Well I said I was going to vote for whoever Spike Lee was voting for...

Heh - true statement. We'll see how long Clinton's "first black President" legacy lasts after this primary season.

OTOH, the whole "F--- recession, we're in a depression - but I'm doing just fine" riff is a bit much.
