About me

I'm Brendan Loy, a 26-year-old graduate of USC and Notre Dame now living and working in Knoxville, Tennessee. My wife Becky and I are brand-new parents of a beautiful baby girl, born on New Year's Eve.

I'm a big-time sports fan, a politics, media & law junkie, an astronomy buff, a weather nerd, an Apple aficionado, a Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter fanatic, and an all-around dork. My blog is best-known for its coverage of Hurricane Katrina, but I blog about anything and everything that interests me.

March for Babies!

Brendan, Loyette and I will be walking in the Knoxville March for Babies, sponsored by the March of Dimes, later this month. The march raises money for research to help babies born with health problems. (Here's a more detailed blurb about it.) If you want to make a donation to support us, and more importantly the research, you can do so here.

Am I to understand that I may purchase an infant for $500?

Heh.

Ah, well, neither Brian nor myself will be able to support you in this matter as we are walking and raising money ourselves.

But, really, there is no greater cause. We have a personal connection to the MOD since the twins were born 13 weeks early. Much of the information I was given and the equipment that was used on Ryan and Zach was provided by grants from the MOD.

Very noble of you, Brendan.

(and Becky ;))

Well, "noble" seems a bit much just for getting out of bed at a decent hour on Saturday, but regardless, it certainly is a good cause! :)

Well, take it from a preemie mom... anyone who gets out of bed to raise money for the organization I am deeply embedded in is noble in my book :)

Y'know, since the pic was of the baby with Brendan, I thought that he was doing the march... For a minute, the only thing that could flash through my head was

Brendan? Physical activity?

I am doing the march. "Brendan, Loyette and I will be walking..."

I've been known to walk the dog, too. :)

yeah, I guess I missed that one. Sorry.

Heh. No worries.
