About me

I'm Brendan Loy, a 26-year-old graduate of USC and Notre Dame now living and working in Knoxville, Tennessee. My wife Becky and I are brand-new parents of a beautiful baby girl, born on New Year's Eve.

I'm a big-time sports fan, a politics, media & law junkie, an astronomy buff, a weather nerd, an Apple aficionado, a Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter fanatic, and an all-around dork. My blog is best-known for its coverage of Hurricane Katrina, but I blog about anything and everything that interests me.

Heh.

Hmm... now, does this "humanize" Hillary, or make her an effete, out-of-touch elitist? We embed, you decide!

(In fairness, I have trouble with those things sometimes too.)

P.S. She's also never heard of Red Bull, and she hasn't pumped her own gas in years. Elitist!! ;)

On a more serious note, after the jump are the clips of Bill O'Reilly's interview with Hillary this morning in South Bend. Notre Dame fans should at least watch the first minute of the first clip -- there's a Fighting Irish reference!

Also, Buffalo-area readers may want to skip ahead to around 5:45 in the second clip, where he (briefly) takes her to task for not improving the Western New York economy. w00t!

I thought she did really well on O'Reilly.

I'm not sure how people miss the fact that Hillary Clinton went to one of the "seven sisters," went to Yale and dissed housewives for baking cookies and standing by their man, yet Obama is an elitist and she isn't??? What's her street address again? 1234 Rich Bitch Lane, Chappaqua, NY?

Don't get me wrong. I could really care less about the President being an elitist. Does anyone think that JFK, FDR, Woodrow Wilson, Thomas Jefferson or George Washington weren't elitists?? But to paint Obama as one while ignoring Hillary's background, or the fact that the only reason John McCain wasn't kicked out of the Naval Academy was because his father was an Admiral, is being anything but "Fair and Balanced."

She may not know how to use the coffee machine, but I think that's not quite as bad as George HW Bush not knowing what the price scanner at the supermarket was ...

What about that time George Bush didn't know how to run a country?

I'm not a big fan of Hillary, but she did amazingly well in that interview. I used to watch O'Reilly all the time, and anyone going on his show should be required to watch the Hillary tape. That's the best I've ever seen anyone perform.
