OMG!
Georgia, the last-place team in the SEC East, which won four conference games all year, is 45.5 seconds away from winning its second game today (over a team playing its first game today) and advancing to the SEC championship game! Unbelievable!
UPDATE: GEORGIA WINS!! Woo!! Incredible!! Two upset wins in 11 hours!!
(Specifically, according to ESPN, Georgia/Kentucky tipped off at 12:11 PM; the game ended at 2:30; Georgia/Mississippi State tipped off at 8:45; the game ended at 10:42.)
P.S. Did I mention the first game went to overtime? So they had to play eighty-five minutes of basketball today? All against superior basketball teams? And their best player fouled out of both games? And they won? Amazing!
P.P.S. As I said earlier, if the Bulldogs win tomorrow, this could be the most incredible story in the entire history of Championship Week.
P.P.P.S. The Big Ten and SEC title games are both scheduled to begin at 3:30 PM tomorrow. Both feature teams with no at-large hopes (Illinois, Georgia) playing for an automatic bid. Something I've always wondered: what happens if one of those games goes to overtime, perhaps multiple overtimes, and continues past 6:00 PM, when the Selection Show is supposed to start??

It's freaking crazy. All those who had Arkansas vs. Georgia in the SEC championship, please raise your hand. Takers, takers? :-)

How about, "All those who had Arkansas vs. Georgia in the SEC championship, with Georgia having just won two games on the same day in Georgia Tech's arena after a tornado hit the Georgia Dome"? ;)

My Georgia-alum husband had been calling for it, at least since lunchtime today. Although, on our first date, he asked whether I played offense or defense in basketball, so my trust in his basketball knowledge and picks is fairly limited!

Brendan, I was just going to say that.
If anyone had suggested that Friday, I would have said they must have fallen asleep during the Big Ten tournament and had a weird dream.

I forgot: "in Georgia Tech's nearly empty arena" :)

Would they then keep contingency plans if 1 or both make it and announce the first two regions not involved and delay the announcement of the other two regionals as long as possible to make it through the overtimes?

My guess is they start the show but don't announce anything, just fill the air with whatever

One thing to consider is that the Big Ten title game is on CBS, so presumably if that one goes long, they delay the Selection Show. But the SEC title game is on ESPN2. Hmm.

Boise State just burst a bubble and is going dancing in a triple OT thriller.
Guess the football team isn't the only team that likes winning a longshot game in triple OT.

Correction: not sure if New Mexico State would be a lock, so I'm not sure of Boise steals a bid. Still, cool game highlights on SportsCenter.

I think you're confusing New Mexico State with New Mexico. NMSU is definitely not a lock, nor even a bubble team. I don't even think they'll be an NIT or CBI team.
But you're right, great game highlights. :)

B. Minich: That was my team that Boise State beat 107-102, and I'm afraid NMSU isn't a lock or even an at-large. We're only 21-14, and most projections had the WAC only getting the auto bid in the NCAAs. :( NMSU might have a shot at the NIT, though.
The women probably will make the NIT, at 23-9 despite losing in the WAC women's final to Fresno State 72-56.
