About me

I'm Brendan Loy, a 26-year-old graduate of USC and Notre Dame now living and working in Knoxville, Tennessee. My wife Becky and I are brand-new parents of a beautiful baby girl, born on New Year's Eve.

I'm a big-time sports fan, a politics, media & law junkie, an astronomy buff, a weather nerd, an Apple aficionado, a Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter fanatic, and an all-around dork. My blog is best-known for its coverage of Hurricane Katrina, but I blog about anything and everything that interests me.

Live from New York, it's... Hillary

Hillary Clinton will appear on Saturday Night Live tonight. She's also doing the Daily Show on Monday. I wonder what the strategic thinking here is. Maybe a last-ditch effort to "show off her human side" before Tuesday?

Only a digital short with Samberg can save her now.

Weekend Update: Hillary Still Sucks.
That is all.

Hate to say it, but I think Hillary is going to hang in there for a while. The polls look like she is in a dead heat in Texas and Ohio. I think if she manages to win Texas and Ohio, she is going to take this to the convention.

Bill didn't win until June. So....

I'm getting a little tired of the whole Hilary acting like a sad underdog at this point. Hillary was as far ahead as Giuliani was of McCain (let alone Huckabee) and while she's playing the game well, it's kind of ridiculous that she makes it sound like Obama hasn't been playing fair or that he's just blowing smoke up everyone's tush.

Of course, I'm not crazy about the near-religious fanaticism that follows Obama either (that YouTube video is really not "the best song ever"), but at least it's enough to keep everyone interested!
