Fire Mike Brey?
I kid, I kid! :) But Notre Dame clearly isn't playing too well, down 32-19 at the half. Though we missed almost the entire first half because Purdue-Xavier took so long to finish. Speaking of which,
Khalil Aboukhaled (a.k.a. fezafou) now leads the pool.
UPDATE: Harumph. With the Irish trailing 38-28 with 14:08 left, CBS has switched us over to the closer Stanford-Marquette game. Off to MMOD I go.

I've been very impressed with Brey this year and also as a big ND fan, but that first half I noticed two different times he should have taken a time out to kill that Wash. St. momentum and he just stood there, he has done this on occasion this season and it really gets to me, hopefully the irish can pick up the pace a little in the 2nd half.

Ugly game. Brey-coached teams really seem to struggle when faced with big games. The last post-season "success" I remember him having was the win versus Illinois in Indianapolis in 2003. Although, notwithstanding this game, this team really overachieved. Picked to finish 9th in the Big East and ends up finishing in a tie for 2nd. If he can find a way to help the players overcome laying the eggs in the bigger games next year, they should be decently successful. It's just sad to see the season end like this.

Did you know?: WSU coach Tony Bennett was the starting point guard on the UW-Green Bay team that upset the Jason Kidd-led University of California team in the NCAA tournament in 1994.

He was an assistant coach there, I think, when his dad was the head coach.
