Enter my pools!
Just to reiterate, here are the links to enter my free, "moneyless" men's NCAA pool and women's NCAA pool.
The NIT pool deadline has passed. Standings are here. The men's NCAA pool deadline is 12:20pm EDT Thursday. The women's NCAA pool deadline is noon EDT Saturday.
This post will stay on top of the homepage until further notice; new posts will appear below.

Maybe it's just me, but the NIT bracket is blank.

Hmmm... it isn't that way for me, but I can imagine how it might be that way on some browsers, given some re-jiggering of the entry form that I did (trying to make it a true 32-team bracket, instead of a modified 64-team bracket).
Anyone else having this problem?
Anyway, thanks for letting me know. I'll fix it (or at least upload an "alternate" version that should work for everyone) ASAP.

P.S. What browser/OS are you using?

Did you notice that Boise State and Oklahoma are one win each from a rematch?
Granted, Boise has to beat Louisville to get there, but still . . . how awesome would that be!

A side note: I'd like to keep up on the tournament, even though I'm sure to come in close to last. I might have geographical problems seeing the site.
I'm behind the Great Firewall, and with the current troubles in you-know-where it looks like google's analytical tools are working overtime to block any websites that mention the Madison's Wife Alpaca, a certain autonomous region, and/or the kind of stuff that happened after the Rodney King verdicts.
Pardon my circumlocution, but YouTube and Instapundit are already inaccessible. (See if you can spot the entry on Insty that triggers the problem!) Just please, don't quote it.

I have been able to view the pool on IE7 on Vista/XP, Firefox on Vista and Safari on Leopard.

I think it's actually a JavaScript issue. It takes a couple of seconds for the teams to appear because a script has to do its thing. Something must have happened on Josh's computer to delay that indefinitely (or else he was just really impatient :).

Aaaand now I think my attempts to fix it have temporarily broken it. :( It should be fixed shortly.
Posted by: Brendan | Mar 17, 2008 1:07:24 PM
Fixed. (I think.) If anyone has any problems, let me know.

I have plenty of problems. Or did you mean just with the pool?
Posted by: Mike | Mar 17, 2008 2:28:48 PM
possible to view actual bracket once entered ? rather than just colored grid ?
Posted by: 4-7 | Mar 17, 2008 2:50:53 PM
Who cares if the grid is colored? Racist! :P
You should have been able to view your bracket, as a bracket, on the first confirmation screen. Only after you click "Send Emails" are you directed to the second confirmation screen, which displays it as a colored grid. Is that not what happened?
Anyway, if you shoot me an e-mail, I can try to get you a PDF of your bracket. (Which pool are we talking about?) No promises, but if I have time. Of course, everyone's brackets will be visible, on the website for all to see, once the pools begin.
Posted by: Brendan Loy | Mar 17, 2008 2:57:43 PM
ohhh - well that's good enough. I just wanted to see it again in bracket form. My printout is only so so. If it will be visible electronically later, that's fine.
Posted by: 4-7 | Mar 17, 2008 4:15:14 PM
Yeah, it'll be visible online by, at the latest, the break between Thursday's early and late games. And probably earlier than that.
Posted by: Brendan Loy | Mar 17, 2008 4:17:04 PM
This is the first pool I have entered in a long time. Now I will have something to make even the earliest games interesting. (Although I am having some buyer's regret on my Champ. Who knows though!)

I'm picking the teams I root for, so I expect to finish dead last.

crap. new poll. Can I re-submit ? the mascots help cause I do better w pictures.
j/k. I want to see where my dart throwing gets me.
Posted by: 4-7 | Mar 17, 2008 10:14:43 PM
I see your j/k, but just in case anyone else has the same question: you're free to resubmit as many times as you want, up until the deadline. Your last entry before the deadline will be considered your final and correct entry, unless you tell me otherwise.

Stewart Mandel at CNN-SI is picking a championship game between USC and UCLA...of course he gets the winner of that game wrong. :)

"Men's NCAA Pool????" Something's missing
Posted by: Mike T | Mar 20, 2008 1:47:04 AM
This isn't a "full-fledged update," it's just an informational signup post, in which space is at a premium because it's stuck at the top of my homepage. Hence my not saying "13th annual" or "Living Room Times" or any of that stuff. I'm not going to waste a whole line of precious top-of-the-homepage space with superfluous verbiage.
Check the left column. The UCLA stuff is there. And it'll be in all the full-fledged updates, as promised. Don't get greedy. :)
