I'm Brendan Loy, a 26-year-old graduate of USC and Notre Dame now living and working in Knoxville, Tennessee. My wife Becky and I are brand-new parents of a beautiful baby girl, born on New Year's Eve.

No, I'm going to follow the terms in good faith, in the intended spirit of the bet. I just e-mailed Tom, the logo's designer, about making the change. I suggested just having it say "Presented by BrendanLoy.com & UCLA" at the bottom.

There's no room for that, and it's not required by the terms of the bet.
The whole reason I said only "UCLA" in the terms of the bet was because I didn't want to promise something specific that might totally screw up the design of the logo.
If I said "Presented by BrendanLoy.com & the UCLA Bruins," it would have to go onto a second line, which would mess up the shadow effect that Tom created.
So, no, it's going to have to be just "UCLA" for the logo. In the text updates, though, it will be "Presented by the UCLA Bruins," as promised.

P.P.S. Technically, I'm doing you a favor by even including UCLA in the logo that's currently displayed at left. I'm only obligated to change it in the official logo for the men's pool. (Per the bet's terms, only the men's pool is "presented by the UCLA Bruins." The women's and NIT pools are not.) But -- again, trying to act in good faith -- I'm going to change it on the logo that will be the most visible throughout the tournament, namely the one in the left-hand column.

Ouch, that was tough to watch. What a bummer. The Bruins played a great game though, and deserved the win. Now let's hope the Trojans play well in the tournament, and hopefully get better than a 6 seed.
