Catholics beat Methodists

The Notre Dame men were eliminated by Washington State yesterday, but the Notre Dame women are still alive, headed for a Tuesday second-round matchup with Oklahoma after beating #12-seed Southern Methodist this afternoon. Go Irish!!

In my women's pool, there's a five-way tie for the lead among Kay Torg, Ken Stern, Tom Caputi, Chuck Wessell and F.X. Also of notre for ND fans: ND hockey was selected as a 4 seed in the NCAA Hockey tournament and will be playing #1 seed New Hampshire in Denver. It'll be tough to make the Frozen Four, likely having to win against UNH and then probably Colorado College in Denver, but the hockey team has had another good season.
