Under attack?
A pair of dual-propeller military helicopters just flew loudly over downtown Knoxville. Has the Georgian invasion begun? ;)

Umm.. that would probably have been a couple of dual-ROTOR helicopters? Were they black? :-)

Just as long as Georgia doesn't put Michael Vick in charge of the Dogs of War.

Not sure if you read Abu Muqawama (if not, you should...very very good counter-insurgency related blog) but anyway, he's a proud son of Tennessee and has been harping on those damn thieving Georgians for the past few weeks. I wouldn't put a sneak attack past them, although I figured it would come in the guise of some soccer mom driven SUVs out of Atlanta.
Totally off topic, I needed to get the link to the Old Glory Robot Insurance ad and was having trouble finding it, so I came here and scanned the archives. Only had to look 6 posts down in the humor section on the new site, didn't even have to hit the old one. I figured you would be proud of that fact.

Were they black?
What difference does that make? Racist!
:P

P.S. Is it definitely rotors? I don't know my helicopter terminology. I tried the Google Test, but to my untrained eye, it's inconclusive: I see references to both "dual propeller" and "dual rotor" helicopters. What's the difference? I just know that what I saw was a military-lookin' helicopter with two thingies going 'round and 'round. And stuff.

Very interesting. I live in little Marceline Missouri and one went over my house this morning too. So loud I had to get up and look.

Yeah, it is definitely rotors. Helos have rotors, prop powered aircraft (recip or turboprop) and ships have propellers.
The helicopter you saw was probably a Chinook, fyi.

Racist?! Gee, I thought that the concept of ridiculing people who see 'black' helicopters was clear!
So now it's a "racist" term? I guess I just don't keep up..
BTW, glad to see you've gotten "rotor" vs. "propeller" straightened out..:-)
