Houston, we have a new car!
Or rather, a new minivan/SUV type thing: the Mazda 5.
It's pretty sweet. And it'll fit two adults, a baby, three cats and a dog way better than the Camry can. :)

As a red-blooded American Male I can't endorse a "minivan/suv type thing" BUT it is a sharp ride...for a minivan/suv and I know it will serve your family well. As Peyton Manning would say, "maybe you could paint some flames on the side!" :>)

Nice ride!

Speaking as the owner of two minivans, I can tell you that that is NOT a minivan ;) It's a very cool car, though. Much sportier than either of the minivans we own. If we could get all 3 kids plus the two of us in a car like that, I'd get one!

You could get all 3 kids and two adults in it -- it seats six comfortably, seven somewhat less comfortably. :) And it has back sliding doors on both sides.
I would also like to point out, before Al Gore tracks us down and yells at us, that one of the reasons we chose the Mazda 5 is because it gets really good gas mileage compared to its competition.

P.S. On the topic of what it "is" ... in Europe they call it a compact MPV.

Wow. Fatherhood has arrived.

Nix the flame idea...put a gold trojan on the hood! (oh, and how about some spinners)
Seriously though, great color.

Rollin' on dubs with the three-finger links?
I have no idea what I just said.

Yes that doesnt look like a mini van. But it is a necessary vehicle with all that baby gear to lug around.

What's the miles per gallon on that thing?
Posted by: Klug | Jan 11, 2008 12:44:19 PM
Brendan, I think it's a stretch to say that it would fit 6 comfortably. I think maybe four adults and two little people comfortably. The back bench seat is fairly small.
It's supposed to get 21/27 mpg.

A "minivan-SUV type thing"? Bleah. And ugly, too.

That's not too bad for an SUV-type thing.

It's Station Wagon time ... (grin) ...

What about a new Mac? They upgrade the MacPro yesterday.

Wow. Excellent.

COOL car.
Posted by: DUP | Jan 11, 2008 5:11:42 PM
JD, ugly? Nah. What's ugly is a minivan that gets 15 mpg when gas is $4/gallon.

Sporty wheels indeed for a 'family man'.
LOL - Is it irreverant to think that Mary and Joseph traded in their little ass for a camel on the way to Egypt?
