Hillary Clinton did not win New Hampshire
Nope. She tied Obama, 9-9.
In delegates, that is. Which, in case you forgot, are what actually matter.
But don't tell that to the media. It would interfere with the storyline. :)
UPDATE: Andrew Sullivan notes that, if you include the pledged superdelegates, Obama won!
If the convention were held today, New Hampshire's turn in the roll call would go something like this: "Mr. Speaker, the great state of New Hampshire, the Granite State, proud home of the first-in-the-nation primary, led by our great Democratic governor, John Lynch; New Hampshire, home of the 2007 Canadian-American League champion Nashua Pride baseball team and the 2006-2007 AHL Atlantic Division champion Manchester Monarchs hockey team; New Hampshire, whose state motto 'live free or die' was once again embodied last year when we became the first state to legalize same-sex unions without a court order or a threatened court order; New Hampshire, which cast its four electoral votes for John Kerry in 2004, and will once again proudly support a Democrat for president in 2008; Mr. Speaker, New Hampshire casts 12 votes for Barack Obama, 11 votes for Hillary Clinton, and 4 votes for John Edwards!"

Heh. That's about right.
Its looking more and more like Maryland might matter . . . this being my first Presidential Primary election in Maryland (I had moved here in August of 2004), I'm quite happy about this. For some reason, it is the week AFTER Super Duper Tuesday (and WHY are we calling the Tuesday formally known as Super Tuesday this again?!?!?! Are we 2nd graders?!?!), but it looks like the race will be up in the air then! I've always lived in Pennsylvania, which has pretty much relegated my primary votes to the realm of forgone conclusion affirming status. Now, it may actually count, whereas my still Pennsylvania bound family doesn't get to count.
I'm a registered Republican, and that would normally relegate me to also ran status in this state. I've debated changing parties in order to cast primary votes that actually count - the Republican party typically doesn't even run during a primary here, since there's usually only one guy willing to put up with the beating he's in for in the state races anyway. However, I stayed in the GOP for this cycle because of the Presidential race, hoping that with the early date, I may be able to make a difference.

"Hillary Clinton did not win New Hampshire"
Exactly correct. / and Actually, she didn't simply "tie Obama" at 9-9, but instead "lost" to the Obama/Edwards ticket, 9 to 13. (And that's Not Counting the NH Dem delegates Unallocated by the primary.)
Just as Barack Obama did not "win" Iowa, but rather "lost" to the Edwards/Clinton combine, 16 to 29 ~ again Ignoring the delegate seats Unaffected by the Caucus. (FWIW, reportedly Hillary currently holds an overall Majority of mandatorily-Allocated-plus-voluntarily-Announced delegate slots, comprising 187 to Barack & Smilin' Johnny's aggregate 139. )
Similarly, albeit not Identically, the post-New-Hampshire Republican tote board reads: Huckabee 31, Others 30 (namely, Romney 19 , McCain 7, Thompson 3, Hunter 1).
i.e.: ITDS. (It's the Delegates, Stupid. :) // AND: Super Duper PooperScooper Tuesday is NOT going to Resolve it. Both of These Things are Going to the Conventions in late August & early September. / May God continue to bless the United States of America :).

edwards needs to drop out of this race asap, otherwise hillary has this.

I like the sound of "Andrew Sullivan - Super Scab."

Also, Romney is currently leading the Republican side in delegates.

That's probably just as premature as my sentiment five days ago that "Obama has this," but you do have a point about Edwards. I was thinking this morning that -- although I don't personally like the idea of an Obama-Edwards ticket -- it might make strategic sense for Obama to offer Edwards the veep spot before Super Duper Tuesday, so that the two "change candidates" won't keep splitting the vote in all those bigs states. This would make sense especially if the order of finish in South carolina is Hillary-Obama-Edwards, since that would indicate that: 1) Obama really does need Edwards out; and 2) Edwards is well and truly toast, and should grab the VP offer while it's hot.

Well . . . it depends on what your definitions of "win" and "matter" are.

brendan,
i posted in response to that i think that it wasnt over yet, that hillary still had a chance, and that obama needed convincing wins to keep the momentum going.
people are seriously underestimating what obama has to overcome here. hillary is big money establishment politics. this is very difficult to overcome. the establishment candidates win these primaries quite often. especially in recent history. id say obama has about a 15-20% chance to win the nomination if edwards doesnt drop out, and about 30-33% chance if he does.
hillary's campaign organizations are above and beyond anything anyone else can do. with a 10pt win in nh, obama couldve gotten a new influx of cash and put a freeze on hillary. that will not happen now. id be glad to be wrong here, but i really dont see how obama can win this unless a whole string of increasingly unprobable events occur.

Slightly off topic, but did anyone notice Ryan Bradel in the background of Fox News' coverage of the McCain rally in NH?
I swear to God, Bradel was holding a drink, chanting loudly "MAC IS BACK!"
I'm 100% sure it was him, and it really had me laughing
Posted by: thebeef | Jan 9, 2008 10:19:04 AM
thebeef,
Was this his victory speech, or some other rally? Would love to find it on youtube...

Dammit, why didn't I save it on my TiVo??
Posted by: Brendan | Jan 9, 2008 10:38:58 AM
At work, so can't watch the whole thing right now, but here it is from CNN -- Part 1, Part 2 and Part 3 -- and from Fox: Part 1, Part 2.
So... which clip? Minutes and seconds?
Posted by: Brendan Loy | Jan 9, 2008 10:42:55 AM
Bradel works for McCain, so it's very likely you saw him there.
Posted by: S | Jan 9, 2008 10:43:06 AM
It was actually at the victory speech, but before McCain took the podium. It was right when Fox News went live to McCain HQ after McCain was projected the winner.
I never had the slightest doubt it was Bradel. I mean, first of all, it looked just like him...and secondly, it was vintage Bradel: Big grin, drink in hand, chanting loudly "MAC IS BACK"
I've since learned that he joined the McCain campaign--so, yeah...Bradel on TV.
Posted by: thebeef | Jan 9, 2008 10:53:01 AM
I just noticed how retarded my post reads. It was NOT actually at the victory speech, it was earlier, at the HQ (same location as speech) when McCain was projected the winner

So . . . are we ready for Super Duper Looper Pooper Scooper Blooper with a Cooper Hooper Tuesday?
Posted by: B. Minich | Jan 9, 2008 11:30:27 AM
(Or maybe it should be Super Duper Cooper Looper Blooper Hooper with a Pooper Scooper Tuesday - I like that better.)
Posted by: B. Minich | Jan 9, 2008 11:32:50 AM
I can't stand Hillary. I was hoping Obama would have taken her out of the race yesterday. Now we have to listen to her tell us how she is going to "lead us." Like we haven't been "led" enough by an idiot for the past eight years, we have to look forward to her cackling voice.

Posted by: MumZ | Jan 9, 2008 12:19:37 PM
Well, I like Hillary, so There :).
In the NH debate, after Hillary coyly noted that being told she isn't Likeable "hurts my feelings...but, I'll try to go on" :), Barack gallantly reassured her, "You're likeable Enough, Hillary." :>
I like her Enough too. ;} While not Rocksolid on this, I'm presently still planning to vote for her on Whooper Stupor Party Pooper Tuesday ;}
Joe Mama, thanks for that Delegate Update. I've bookmarked that CNN page, which is evidently better than the AP one I was using.

PS ~ and remember, even if I didn't Like Hillary Enough :), I'd still Have to vote for her: I'm a Baby Boom Dimmycrat so it's the Law. I know 'cause I Seen it in the Exit Polls :). We may be going Out but we'll go down Bitching :> and when that Torch has been Passed, mind that your Pants aren't on fire, punks ;].

perhaps she really didn't win... because of voting fraud???http://truthseeds.org/2008/01/09/errors-transposing-votes-and-diebold-machines-removed-votes-from-obama-and-paul/
writer of this blog seems to be a paul nut so take it with a couple grains of salt, but the fact that they are even using those stupid machines is ridiculous.

I think there was voter fraud in New Hampshire and Nevada. I believe this because the pollsters were right in their predictions for every candidate except Obama and Clinton. In addition, the exit polls for New Hampsire were consistent with predictions including polls that were taken on the day of the primary.
I think we all know what happened in Nevada with Hillary's "NO WOMAN IS ILLEGAL"

people need to wake up and listen for a change, getting obama into the white house is just like keeping president bush, obama is a fast talker, people are voting him because of hollywood, this is not about hollywood, he don't have experience, this is not a clerical job or a secretary job, you don;t need but 2 years experience for that, this is about being a president for the people. my vote is for hillary, if she don't make the ticket, i will vote republican, and most of the people i have talk to is thinking the same thing. wake up people. you are the same people that voted bush in, where have that gotten us, i am tired of suffering.

Obama supporters are "the same people that voted bush in"??
