Santas under seige!
First, Santa gets pie in his face in Missoula, Montana... then, Santa gets groped in Danbury, Connecticut... and then, Santa gets cold-cocked in Spokane, Washington. (Hat tip: Scott Fort.) What next? Taking out Santa's knee caps? Drive-by Santa shootings? I've heard of the War on Christmas, but this is ridiculous!

They've already shot at Santa in a helicopter this year in Rio. So he's been shot at.

" I've heard of the War on Christmas, but this is ridiculous!"
Taking out a secular symbol like Santa? Sounds to me like a radical Christian counter-offensive.

Yeah Saint Nicholas is really secular...

"Danbury Fair mall spokeswoman Melissa Eigen called the alleged groping 'an isolated incident.' "
That's all very well but the way I heard it, the Santas at Westfarms in Farmington and Buckland Hills in Manchester are in a dither over rumors of Copycat gropings at malls throughout Connecticut :>. "On, Cupid!" indeed :}.

KXLY News in Spoke said the Santa Punch happened in the neighborhood just east of Gonzaga. Glad to see things haven't changed since my school days.

Funny. I don't recall praying to Santa Claus when I was a kid. Just like I don't recall going to church on St. Patrick's day and St. Valentine's day.

A&A, here in far Americay St. Patrick's Day is not secular; it is simply our day set aside for the Veneration of the Holy Water :). Yes, when I was a young man in me prime we used to sow our wild oats every 17th day of March and then stagger to Mass the next mornin' to pray for a Crop failure ;>. Now as to Feb. 14, who says my birthday isn't an occasion for solemn Prayer & Contemplation? :]

Loy the Elder - was it Venereation of the Holy Water ? Or was it not Veneration of the Water of Life, Itself ?

(mutter, grumble) Veneration ...
(Venereation, forsooth ! 'Tis yer own for-sure fault for bringing our minds to Venereality with yer "Crop failure" preayers ! (grin))

Why do I always feel like I'm reading James Joyce when I read Joe Loy's and Alasdair's exchanges?

** Why do I always feel like I'm reading James Joyce when I read Joe Loy's and Alasdair's exchanges? **
Probably because you are as illiterate as Joyce, Loy, and Alasdair are horrible writers.
