Frank Eck dies
Frank Eck, one of Notre Dame's most generous benefactors and the man for whom the new law school building will be named, died yesterday at age 84. Here is Dean O'Hara's statement on his passing.

Death is the province of the old, but it's still a bummer. As this generation passes, I can't help but think that we're losing some class and character that the baby boomers haven't displayed yet.

By all accounts a great man. Building on Becky's comment above, I wonder how many folks from our generation that are lucky enough to build great wealth will donate such substantial sums to benefit others.

A great man indeed. Boy did he ever love ND. what was more remarkable then his accomplishments was what he allowed the school to accomplish on campus today. I know of the portrait in the library, But i belive the school should do something in memory of him today.
