I'm Brendan Loy, a 26-year-old graduate of USC and Notre Dame now living and working in Knoxville, Tennessee. My wife Becky and I are brand-new parents of a beautiful baby girl, born on New Year's Eve.
I'm a big-time sports fan, a politics, media & law junkie, an astronomy buff, a weather nerd, an Apple aficionado, a Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter fanatic, and an all-around dork. My blog is best-known for its coverage of Hurricane Katrina, but I blog about anything and everything that interests me.

To the person who left an irrelevant comment here which I have now deleted: if you genuinely want to know the answers to your questions (as opposed to merely hectoring and annoying me by repeatedly commenting on a topic that I've repeatedly deleted comments on), please e-mail me. My address is listed in the sidebar at left.
And others take note: that is the proper course of action if I've deleted a comment and you're unsure why. Simply re-posting the deleted comment is trollish and potentially ban-worthy. But e-mailing me to ask, "Why did you delete my comment?" is always welcome.
