About me

I'm Brendan Loy, a 26-year-old graduate of USC and Notre Dame now living and working in Knoxville, Tennessee. My wife Becky and I are brand-new parents of a beautiful baby girl, born on New Year's Eve.

I'm a big-time sports fan, a politics, media & law junkie, an astronomy buff, a weather nerd, an Apple aficionado, a Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter fanatic, and an all-around dork. My blog is best-known for its coverage of Hurricane Katrina, but I blog about anything and everything that interests me.

Torre to LA?

Will Joe Torre go to the Dodgers?  (And equally important, will he bring those Yankee Free Agents like A-Rod, Posada, and Rivera with him ... and Don Mattingly, too?)

Update: It's official: Torre will take the position vacated by Grady Little (may Red Sox Nation curse his name forever).  Now to see what Yankees staff he brings with him to LA.

In other news: Joe Girardi has taken the number 27 because the Yankees have won 26 World Series, and he wants to be manager during #27.  Dumb.  His former number with New York, 25, is currently being worn by Jason Giambi (though he war #52 when he was a coach with New York in 2005)

Not only should Torre go to the Dodgers, he should take the Dodgers to the World Series while the Yankees crash and burn under the incompetent management of George Steinbrenner's sons.

I would be all for that (assuming they aren't playing the Sox!)

Does this mean Dodger tickets prices will go above 9 dollars?

I thought it was already a done deal that Torre and Mattingly were going to the Dodgers.

Vicki: you are at least partially right.

Gone are the days of Joe Giradi as first ever starting catcher in Rockies' history. I wonder if he'll hire Jayhawk Owens as his bench coach.

The Dodgers were right to get rid of Grady Little. He should have taken Pedro out.

What? That was four years ago, with a different team? Oh. Nevermind.

Brendan:

:-P Any "good" Red Sox fan curses the name of Grady Little. (Yes, I'm challenging your tenacity as a Sox fan! Whachagonnadoaboutit?)

F*** GRADY LITTLE!!! TAKE PEDRO OUT!!!

Is that better? :)

yes

Girardi is just begging to be fired when the Yankees miss the World Series next season. What a dumbass.
