Today's entry from the "WTF?" file
The most bizarre Associated Press correction ever:
GAUHATI, India (AP) - In a Nov. 13 story, The Associated Press incorrectly reported that Paris Hilton was praised by conservationists for highlighting the problem of binge-drinking elephants in northeastern India. Lori Berk, a publicist for Hilton, said she never made any comments about helping drunken elephants in India.
Huh?!
UPDATE: Here is the original story.

Just remember that bloggers aren't as credible as real "journalists."

True story...
Paris Hilton is in Philly today hawking her perfume. If you buy the $55 nose disaster you can meet her and get an autograph.
A guy I work with is going to get the perfume for his niece and bringing a copy of "One Night in Paris" and asking her to sign it.
So awesome.

By the AP's critical standards, the story was entirely believable.

I don't think they corrected the right thing. They say they incorrectly reported that conservationists praised Hilton for her comments, but then go on to say that Hilton's rep says she never made the comments.
Whether she made the comments or not, the conservationists still praised her, didn't they? So the AP didn't make a mistake at all.
Silly AP.
