Tennessee, Kentucky in triple quadruple OT
It looked like the Wildcats were going to win for sure in the second OT after they intercepted Eric Ainge and just needed a FG to win, but then Tennessee blocked the kick... and looked for a moment like they might run it back for a touchdown, until Kentucky stopped the run by committing what looked like a facemask against the ball-carrier, which was not a penalty "by rule" because Tennessee was on defense in overtime (so I guess a Kentucky player could have pulled out a gun and shot the UT player with the ball, and it would be okay).
Anyway... the SEC really is kind of a war, isn't it?
UPDATE: Tennessee wins! 52-50 in 4OT, and the Vols are SEC East champs! They'll play LSU in the conference championship game in Atlanta.

Well the SEC IS a war after all ;-)

So Kentucky can commit a FREE FACEMASK against Tennessee, but throwing the ball in frustration at no one in particular is 15-yard penalty?!? What a joke.
But hey, touchdown Tennessee! So who cares?

Two-point conversion!
Re: the penalty on Foster, I do want to reiterate the point I made during the USC-ASU game: the NCAA desperately needs to reign in its refs with regard to their overzealousness in making "unsportsmanlike conduct" calls (and, relatedly, "personal fouls" for "late hits" where the laws of physics make it impossible for the tackler to stop his forward motion once it becomes clear the ball-carrier is going out of bounds). It's been a terrible trend this season. Yeah, so Foster threw the ball after he didn't get the conversion. He's a kid. He was frustrated. He wasn't hurting anyone. Give him a warning and LET THEM PLAY.

I only enjoy games like that when it's not my team playing. A win is a win, I suppose.

All of a sudden, the SEC title is a must win game for LSU, or its off to a non-BCS bowl for them, as Georgia is likely to be an automatic selection in the top 4. If Tennessee beats them, they go from the BCS title game to the Capitol One Bowl in two weeks.

Unlike the USC/ASU call, I am fairly certain that throwing the ball is an automatic penalty. Perhaps the NCAA should change it, but if i remember correctly its not a judgement call by the refs.

I cannot understand, Tennessee got a 15 yard penalty that was applied into the next overtime, while the facemask by Kentucky was not. It looked that Eric Berry had the corner and could have scored the winning Td. Does anyone out there know why this happened. How can Foster's flag cause Tennesse start at the 40 yd line and Kentucky's flag not be accessed. Both of the series were ended on penalties but onlt Tennessee was penaaltized how can this be.

That was bunk, the refs job is to keep the game close, apparently, and protect their favorites, probably because they have bets on them like the NBA refs. The penalties have been totally uneven and at some times completely random. It's a penalty to flex your muscles after a sack after ONE play, but that's what linebackers do all game long and it's never been called before. Throwing the ball? He didn't throw the ball in the stands, he just tossed it when he got up.
