About me

I'm Brendan Loy, a 26-year-old graduate of USC and Notre Dame now living and working in Knoxville, Tennessee. My wife Becky and I are brand-new parents of a beautiful baby girl, born on New Year's Eve.

I'm a big-time sports fan, a politics, media & law junkie, an astronomy buff, a weather nerd, an Apple aficionado, a Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter fanatic, and an all-around dork. My blog is best-known for its coverage of Hurricane Katrina, but I blog about anything and everything that interests me.

...this happened:

Longer clip (without background music, and without helpful camera-zoom enhancement) here.

You can read stories about the 25th anniversary here, here and here.

Yeah. I still think that first guy had his knee down when he threw the lateral, but what are ya gonna do 25 years after the fact.

Pac-10 refs suck. :)

Sorry. Third guy. He had his knee down. Should've called it back. Pussies.

My goodness, Mad Max...can't tell the difference between the first guy and the third guy? Sounds like a Stanfurd grad to me. :-)

Aside from the band geek that got knocked on his rear, how is this better than the Trinity University and Millsaps College game in October of this year?

This sounds like another case of West Coast Bias to me ;-)

Here's an analysis that says The Play beats the Mississippi Miracle for "Best. Play. Ever." status.

Touche.

Nobody ever heard of the schools in the "Mississippi Miracle" before the "Mississippi Miracle." In fact, when I saw the clip I thought it was a high school game because of the lack of fans in the stands.
