Join the club - I spent a few hours in an ethics CLE myself this morning. The CLE deadline for most states is approaching, and the ethics requirements are typically put off until the last minute, which means many attorneys (like myself) are now scrambling to fit them into their schedules.
So far the only straight answer I've ever been able to pry from an ethics CLE class is that you can't represent both sides in the same case :-)

Oh, and Happy Birthday.

Ethics stops for no man, nor for his birthday! I'm sure Senator Boxer applauds you for your commitment to ethics.

Brandon,
Once you've been practicing a few years, you'll know that the secret to surviving a CLE is sitting in the back of the room with a coffee and a crossword puzzle or, better yet, a smartphone with internet access.
