About me

I'm Brendan Loy, a 26-year-old graduate of USC and Notre Dame now living and working in Knoxville, Tennessee. My wife Becky and I are brand-new parents of a beautiful baby girl, born on New Year's Eve.

I'm a big-time sports fan, a politics, media & law junkie, an astronomy buff, a weather nerd, an Apple aficionado, a Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter fanatic, and an all-around dork. My blog is best-known for its coverage of Hurricane Katrina, but I blog about anything and everything that interests me.

Quote of the day

Justice Clarence Thomas: "About the only way I would get invited to Columbia is if I was a Middle East dictator with nuclear weapons." Heh! (Hat tip: InstaPundit.)

The sad thing about his quote is how true it is. An islamofascist-terrorist-dictator stands a better chance of being invited to speak at Columbia than a conservative supreme court justice. How sad.

On which subject: Check out Taranto here. (Scroll down.)

It appears that, in order to bolster her ethos, Anita Hill mentioned that she'd passed the DC bar, which she claims is among the toughest in the nation.

I've even less knowledge about bar exams than Taranto. But, judging from e-mailers, the early verdict seems to be . . . ah, not so much.

Anita Hill. To paraphrase one e-mail: Once a liar, always a liar.

Or if he apologized to Anita Hill. What an angry, bitter man. He has much to be proud of, but he can't shake what he did, and it's eating him up. Move on, Clarence. Move on.

Oh, he's moved on all right.

You can currently reach Clarence Thomas at:

One First St. NE,
Washington, DC, 20543
