I'm Brendan Loy, a 26-year-old graduate of USC and Notre Dame now living and working in Knoxville, Tennessee. My wife Becky and I are brand-new parents of a
beautiful baby girl, born on New Year's Eve.
I'm a big-time sports fan, a politics, media & law junkie, an astronomy buff, a weather nerd, an Apple aficionado, a
Lord of the Rings and
Harry Potter fanatic, and an all-around dork. My blog is best-known for its
coverage of Hurricane Katrina, but I blog about anything and everything that interests me.

BTW: In your estimation, what's worse Brendan? Being USC and losing to Stanford at home by one point, or being UCLA and breaking Notre Dame's losing streak by two touchdowns at home?
It's going to be a long week in LA.

Go Irish!

If life was like law school, a good test question this week would be:
The Irish stink this season, but they are better than Stanford. Discuss.

I liked how excited UCLA got about USC losing just before their third quarter debacle. It was complete college football rivalry karma.

Of the top 10 teams before play started last week, only LSU, Cal and Ohio State haven't lost a game.

Congrats on the Irish win, after all a win is a win, and its never fun being in a skid like that, but considering that UCLA was playing most of the game with its third string walk on quarterback its certainly not unexpected.

One more reason to hate the F'n Bruins! They did this to us on purpose.

I liked how if you watch the highlights, after the crucial interception by Stanford that set up their touchdown, whoever the guy that planted (it was a nice hit) the guy with the ball gets up and flexes and celebrates.
Apparently he wasn't fully aware of what just happened.
