WTF??
I just checked TVGuide.com, and, um... ABC is showing Iowa-Wisconsin at 8:00 PM Saturday in Knoxville, instead of USC-Wazzu?? Are you kidding me??
I thought I'd escaped the torture of missing games I cared about in favor of lame-ass Big Ten crapfests when I moved out of the Midwest!! Not that Wisconsin is crappy, of course, but c'mon: how is #7 Wisconsin vs. an Iowa team that just lost to Iowa State the "national" game, instead of #1 USC vs. a decent Washington State squad (whose only loss is to... you guessed it... Wisconsin)? Good grief.
Hey, fellow Knoxvillians (Knoxvillites? Knoxvillagers?), can you recommend any non-smoking sports bars? Does such an animal even exist? I have a pregnant wife to think of here...

Iowa still has yet to let up a TD all season...making them one of the best defenses in the Big 10. Upset city this weekend.
It's the national game because it's a huge rivalry for both teams.
Both games are the "national game" though. I saw a commercial last weekend that said it depended what coast you were on.
GO HAWKS!!! GO MITCH KING!!!

Iowa hasn't given up a touchdwon, Notre Dame has yet to score and offensive touchdown. They should totally schedule that game!

Go to www.smokefreeknoxville.com and then click restaurants for a listing of smoke free places to eat in Knox.

I meant to add that some of those places might have TVs tuned to sports. Also, isn't Knoxville going smoke free Oct 1? In that case maybe Bailey's sports bar and grill?

Loy, I don't know what cable provider you have down in Tenn but if you have any kind of "On Demand" feature with your provider (you know, the channel that allows you to purchase movies for 24 hours for a fee) check it out for a Sports option. BrightHouse in parts of Fla. will allow you to buy individual games through their On Demand and ESPN Pay Per View.
With that said, I think ABC is making a big mistake...show the #1 team in the nation to everyone EXCEPT the Iowa and Wisconsin markets - oh, and perhaps the Indiana market. I doubt Irish fans want a preview of what is coming their way in late Oct.

Here's the list of links to coverage maps for ESPN Game Plan this weekend:
http://proxy.espn.go.com/ncf/gameplan/index#
If that doesn't work, try this:
http://proxy.espn.go.com/ncf/gameplan/index
and click on Blackout Schedule, then select the game of your choice.

At one point, the ABC coverage maps for each Saturday were available online, but when I go searching now all I can find are links that lead back to 2002. That is a pity, because I liked seeing exactly which stations were getting which games (and I could conclusively prove that Big Ten games kept getting shoved into Central Iowa while the Omaha stations got Big 12).

Well, I guess the post above mine kind of answered my question, although the maps aren't nearly as good.

Agreed that the ABC maps were nicer/better. The ESPN Gameplan maps do essentially the same thing, but they're smaller and thus harder to read in detail. The upside is they have a map for every ESPN Gameplan family game, instead of just the ABC broadcasts.

I'm likewise screwed in H-town, with my sister-in-law's anniversary due Sat night at my father- and mother-in-law's. Such is the coolness of my in-laws that they wouldn't even mind my commandeering the living room TV and screaming bloody murder for Pete and the guys. They find my behavior entertaining, or so they say; they all come from Vietnam and are amused by what they see as our strange American customs. (Soccer fans all, they're used to screaming twice a match, not fifty times. My sainted mother-in-law reassures her guests: "My son-in-law. He okay.")
But . . . but . . . family obligations preclude the sports bar. Rock, chalk . . . Hawkeye, or whatever the hell. When you say Wissss-con-sin, you've said it all.

Yep. Sounds like my last three football seasons - but NOT THIS YEAR!!!! =oD It's great to be back where my #1 team will be on tv! And even better that for home games it doesn't matter because I'm there anyway!
Yep, back in the sunshine! =0)

From ESPN...
"After scoring five TDs against The Citadel last week, Wisconsin running back P.J. Hill will face a much stiffer test in Iowa. The Hawkeyes are the only I-A team not to allow a touchdown this season and rank fifth in total defense."
UPSETTTTTTTT
