Football update
Central Florida just fumbled away a chance at stunning Texas. Bah.
Speaking of Florida: Florida 59, Tennessee 20, final. Yikes. UT was within 28-20, but Florida finished the game on a 31-0 run, including 24-0 in the fourth quarter
Meanwhile, UCLA is trailing 17-6 in the third quarter at Utah. [UPDATE: Make that 24-6!] ... I know that's bad for the Pac-10, but: WOOOOO!!!! UCLA sucks!!!!
USC and Nebraska get underway at 8:00 PM on ABC. Fight on, Trojans!! Beat the Cornhuskers!!

Make that 37-6 and the Bruins just threw an INT deep in their own territory...

I like seeing a 4 play, 96 yard drive to start the game...it pleases me.
Fight On!

Meanwhile I'm convinced that Jim Tressel is an ass. Not because the Huskies lost, Ohio State was a stronger more mature team, I'm proud that we stayed in it as long as we did. No Jim Tressel is an ass because with less than 30 seconds on the clock and Washington with no timeouts rather than take a knee they decided to keep running plays to run up the score.

As the Ol' Ball Coach once said,"You can't spell Citrus without UT."

Come on David, lots of teams run on the final plays of the game. Look at USC against Nebraska tonight. How was PC any different than Tressel?

Yeah, USC was still "working on the passing game" well into the fourth quarter with Booty in there against Nebraska...even when they could have just run it up the middle with success.

Run on the final plays maybe, but run on the final plays when you are well into your opponents territory? Against their backups? Take a knee, finish the game and celebrate your victory. I'm talking about less than 30 seconds here.

SC should've been running the clock out in the 3rd quarter. Not just because the game was over, but who the hell wants a game that lasts over 4 hours? The refs should be allowed to stop the games. Not just to prevent unneccessary injuries, but for the fans own best interests.

Sandy, I blame the commercials. TV timeouts should be outlawed. If you can't get your commercials in during the natural breaks in the game, then don't bother.

I agree. I hate TV timeouts. I also hate unnecessary interviews that laboriously plod on while something interesting is going on in the game.
