About me

I'm Brendan Loy, a 26-year-old graduate of USC and Notre Dame now living and working in Knoxville, Tennessee. My wife Becky and I are brand-new parents of a beautiful baby girl, born on New Year's Eve.

I'm a big-time sports fan, a politics, media & law junkie, an astronomy buff, a weather nerd, an Apple aficionado, a Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter fanatic, and an all-around dork. My blog is best-known for its coverage of Hurricane Katrina, but I blog about anything and everything that interests me.

A Connecticut Yankee in Judge Susano's Court

My clerkship starts tomorrow. Wish me luck!

P.S. Of course, this is just about the last you'll be hearing of the clerkship here on the blog. :)

P.P.S. And yes, I've been waiting to post that headline for weeks. What can I say, I'm a man of simple pleasures. Though admittedly, perhaps I shouldn't be paraphrasing Mark Twain, considering what he thought of lawyers. Heh.

Good luck!

I understand that you can't talk about the clerking - but I sure wish you could. It would give a glimpse into an area that's just completely unknown to most people. Transparency is good.

But I understand.

Good luck old Kiddoe :)

Beats what Shakespeare had to say about them... So if you are worried about such things, best not to quote him at all.. not today, not tomorrow and for the rest of your life... (Hmm, that would have been funnier if I'd thought of a good Shakespeare quote to end it with... oh well).

Have a good one. I'll actually be down there for a pre-trial conference with one of the retired Special Judges in a couple of weeks. We should get some lunch.

Don't blog at work!

I'm not planning to, Admiral. :)
